"The coolest thing about my job is handling lots of data from vendors because it’s really challenging not to make mistakes in entering data, sorting files, rechecking file contents, and so on."

What do you do at your job?

PAYFAZZ (PT Payfazz Teknologi Nusantara) is a financial technology startup that creates a distributed network of bank agents in Indonesia, who performs financial transactions on behalf of the unbanked and underbanked customers. As an HR Intern that reporting directly to Outsourcing Management, my day-to-day responsibilities are helping Outsource Team to recap employee database, inputting data from incoming invoices from a vendor to SAP system for creating Purchase Requisition, receiving Purchase Order from Payables Team, and also creating Statement of Completion for payments in SAP systems.

The interesting things about my job are seeing a lot of data and invoices from many vendors, and doing my responsibilities on the SAP system. Those are my new amazing experiences.

What's your background?

I was born in Bogor and lived there for 5 years after that my family and I decided to move and live in East Jakarta until now. My father is an online driver and my mother is a housewife. I have a brother who is 4 years younger than me.  I have a lot of passion because I’m a Business Administration Student who is studying many fields such as Human Resource Management, Secretarial, Accounting and Taxation, E-Commerce, Marketing and Sales Administration, and even International Trade.

I was offered the position of HR Intern at Payfazz after I applied for the Sales Administration position at the website. I still can't believe this precious opportunity was given to me and this was my first internship offer and until now, I’m really grateful for this amazing internship experience at Payfazz. I officially joined this internship program on September 20, 2021, so I've been working for almost 3 months.

Could someone with a different background do your job?

Yes, I think people from different backgrounds can do this job as long as they are passionate about exploring this job. The skills or characteristics needed to be in this position such as can focus and conscientiously with lots of data, having basic knowledge about excel/google sheets formula, and can quickly understand the data recording system.

What's the coolest thing about your job?

The coolest thing about my job is handling lots of data from vendors because it’s really challenging not to make mistakes in entering data, sorting files, rechecking file contents, and so on. Inputting data to the SAP system is the most enjoyable task for me but participating in discussions with my supervisors about employee salaries is also very fun to explore. This job is perfect for me because I love to see, explore, and process a lot of data, plus I have a big passion for Human Resource Management. Next time, I want to learn more about compensation and benefits.

What is the minus of your job?

In my opinion, the biggest concern that I feel is as much as possible to avoid mistakes in doing this work, especially when sending files to other divisions, because I think it’s better not to have revisions regarding all data or files that we want to send. The challenge that may be faced by others if they work in this position is to always double-check the incoming data, make sure there are no data errors before processing it to the SAP system or sending it to other colleagues.

What suggestions you would like to give yourself?

Dear myself, I know you have many goals for your future but just slow down and enjoy every moment that happens in your life. Don't feel heavy because you are the eldest child and the first hope in your family, they will be happy if you are happy too. Lastly, please be kind to yourself, you deserve to get love and support from others.
